Ethics of AI
A secure and ethical approach to developing AI-enabled solutions is the cornerstone of our strategy to meet evolving needs. Secure and ethical AI principles guide the design and development of our AI systems and solutions. These principles are defined by the Defense Innovation Board and adopted by the Department of Defense and other customers.
Implementing Ethics in AI
We are building upon our long history of leadership in secure processing for our nation’s most trusted systems, to build secure and ethical AI-enabled trusted systems. Northrop Grumman’s leadership in secure and ethical AI goes beyond the technical and considers the legal, policy and social implications. Our AI technologies will be responsible, equitable, traceable, reliable, governable, and auditable and protected against threats.
Principles and Need
At Northrop Grumman, AI has the potential to transform every system, product and service that we produce for our customers, worldwide. We develop advanced capabilities to solve the world’s most challenging problems in space, aeronautics, maritime defense, cyberspace and intelligence. The stakes are high—and our standards for ethics and security are even higher.
Partnerships
We seek the most creative and innovative technology solutions and we do that, in part, through investments and partnerships. We understand the power and agility of the start-up ecosystem.
It is important that in the rapidly changing AI technology space, we invest and build partnerships across the commercial sector and academia to bring the best solutions to the warfighter.
