The trend towards women in leadership positions appears to be on the rise, with a growing number of well-known corporations such as IBM, General Motors, and Mondelez International appointing female CEOs. In fact, currently there are more women running Fortune 500 companies than at any time in the company's 63-year history.
However, when viewed in context, this represents only 6.4 percent of the top corporations. Women's inequality is still a huge business concern, as seen by recent high-profile stories disclosing the BBC's gender pay gap and instances of female entrepreneurs claiming a fictional male co-founder for credibility.
